Campfire sounds for sleep
A Small Campfire, Crackling
Forty minutes of a small wood fire burning low: soft crackles, the odd pop, logs settling. No voice and no music. The recording is by Alienguy500 on freesound.org, licensed CC BY 4.0 (creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0). Lullable looped it into one 40-minute track, mixed it to mono, evened its level and faded it in and out.
Why this one works at night
A fire that needs nothing from you. It has been burning for a while, the wood shifts and ticks, and the warmth is the whole of it. The pace is quiet, with crackles, and the whole of it is warm, close, wood smoke. Good for cold nights, cozy rooms. There are no words to follow and no music to wait for, and it fades out on its own at the end.
