Cricket sounds for sleep
Night Crickets at Chacahua Lagoon
Forty minutes of crickets on the shore of Laguna de Chacahua, a lagoon on the Pacific coast of Oaxaca, Mexico. No voice and no music, only the steady trill of insects in the warm dark. Recorded by Felix Blume and shared on Freesound under CC0, first prepared for greensound.app, then looped by Lullable into one seamless track with a slow fade at each end.
Why this one works at night
A lagoon after dark, with crickets keeping their own slow count. It is the sound of a summer night with the window open. The pace is soft and pulsing, and the whole of it is warm night, still water. Good for summer-night nostalgia. There are no words to follow and no music to wait for, and it fades out on its own at the end.
Night Crickets at Chacahua Lagoon is 40 minutes long, with no voice and no music, and fades out on its own. It is in the Lullable iPhone app, with a Premium subscription.
