Ocean waves for sleep

Ocean Waves at White Beach

▶ 40 minNature SoundsDriftingRecorded by Kevin Luce (kevp888)Premium

Forty minutes of waves on White Beach, Puerto Galera, in the Philippines. No voice and no music, only water arriving and drawing back at its own unhurried pace. Recording by kevp888 or Kevin Luce, and www.freesound.org, licensed CC BY 4.0 (creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0). The recordist faded it in and out with a 60 Hz high-pass filter; Lullable looped it into one 40-minute track, mixed it to mono and evened its level.

Why this one works at night

The sea doing the one thing it always does. Each wave arrives, spreads and draws back, and the next one is already on its way. The pace is slow, rolling, and the whole of it is open shore, warm night. Good for slowing your breathing. There are no words to follow and no music to wait for, and it fades out on its own at the end.
